A few words about me

I'm Simon Olsen, and I have been a digital designer for over 10 years. My focus is on building a web presence, not just a website, for my clients. I've created rich and interesting web content and delivered that content across online advertising and social media for a variety of clients. This is my website.

I have entered a competition run by Adobe Australia and NZ. You had to Like their Facebook page, and upload a 60 sec video of what your favourite feature of an Adobe product is.

This is my entry. Competition closes 20th June 2011.

Hope I win!

Ally and I went to have Ally's ultrasound at the 12 week 1 day mark of our pregnancy. We're due on 9th October 2011. Yes, 9/10/11! This is a video of our ultrasound visit.

Check out the 3D and 4D imaging! Amazing stuff. The baby looks massive, but they're only 6.5cm long.

I attended Adobe Refresh 2010 at Sydney's Convention Centre. A little wrap up of what I saw, what I thought, what I liked and my first witness of the "content awareness" in Photoshop.

I tweeted about not being sure if the Content Awareness tool was real, but I was assured it was. If you were at Adobe Refresh Sydney or any of the other Refresh seminars, comment and video respond!

A simple, step by step tutorial on using the green screen capabilities of iMovie '09 on a Mac. I start with the set up of your green screen (I used bright green lycra, 2m for $50 from Spotlight), enabling Advanced options in iMovie and creating the green screen effect, with various examples.

Ever plugged a USB flash drive, removable hard drive, SD card, camera, phone or other external storage device into a PC and not found it coming up in (My) Computer? More often than not, this is how you find it and make it available.

Chances are it's tried to take a drive letter (F:/, G:/ etc) that's already assigned to another device or partitioned space.

This tutorial will show you how to find the storage device you've plugged in, change the drive letter and let you access the contents of that device.

Watch this is you want to move all of your iTunes from one computer to another, even if it's across platforms (eg. PC to Mac). This uses iTunes 9 Home Sharing.

I hope this helps you out, as I did a fair bit of research and this seems like the most straight forward way to move all of your music, movies and podcasts etc from one computer to another, and I didn't find this solution anywhere. It just seemed like a logical way to do it.
